VR’s impact on tech in 2016 has been felt in spades at this year’s South by Southwest festival, according to research firm Sysomos’s analysis of Twitter buzz surrounding South by Southwest Interactive. Chatter generated by major brand activations of virtual-reality experiences drove VR to over 102 million Twitter impressions, followed by 32.6 million for mobile apps like Snapchat and Kik and 30 million for robots and robotics, likely helped by SXSW’s first-ever “Robot Ranch” event.
