Around 3:45 in on the Tammy Mercure directed “Calm Before” Quelle Chris video, featuring Cavalier and Suzi Analog, we see the Detroit MC and producer holding a rather large yellow snake around his neck. Next, he is holding a lizard or baby alligator in his hands, without pause. While in back a persistent cat is chasing a mouse down a hole in the ground, and a very shy donkey pokes in and out of the camera shot. These matter of fact, bizarre images befit the Quelle Chris on-mic persona. Poignant, comedic and self-aware.
